Only $9.99 so I'll buy.
I've seen in top ten lists before. it always tops the sokoban like games lists. I know you said you don't love that sub genre but I like it.

I'm 2 hours into Monster's Expedition. I like it more than Stephen's sausage roll in general, but I felt far too aimless for most of those 2 hours. The game has a clear objective/success state but you have to spend some time learning what that is.

It's a fun sokoban. Absolutely loved how it handled the game's title. The writing is pretty bleh but a kid would probably have a lot of fun with it.

Game has a good/easy flow when I know what the goal is. A few times I've been stuck for more than a few minutes since what I think is the goal is not actually the goal.

Fair amount of clever stuff. I think I'm getting close to the end, but I don't know. My biggest critique is that progression is just so mindless.

Finished monsters expedition. Pretty disappointing ending, but overall I enjoyed it. Had clever ideas and was executed well but its only big surprise was in the opening.

Was pretty fun to play. Most puzzles were relatively easy so I made it through in under 10 hours despite doing most of the extra content. Some puzzles were fun and hard, but most of the hard puzzles were just annoying. I wouldn't even know what the game wanted me to do so I'd have to exhaust the possibility space.

Gonna clean up stuff I missed. I'm hoping the game still has some secrets but I doubt it.

I think I would rate the main quests:
Dark Brotherhood
Greybeard quest
College of Winterhold
The Companions
Thieves Guild
The War arc

I know some of the dark brotherhood quest but otherwise you lost me.

Here I spoil the 6 big quests in the game.

Spoiler for Hidden:
Dark Brotherhood one is cool. You take someone's identity, get double crossed and end up killing the emperor.

The main storyline has a couple interesting beats, where you kind of travel back into the past and you also go to "heaven" to have a final boss fight.

College of Winterhold is mostly boring, but there's one quest that almost gets emotional. It could have been done better, but you see the head of the college lose like 6 companions trying to get through a single dungeon.

The companions involves becoming a werewolf and taking out some werewolf hunters.

Thieves Guild, I'm probably underrating this one. The first half is about this secret organization, but it doesn't feel as meaningful as some of the other ones. And then the second half is just a bunch of thief quests and it's kind of boring.

The war arc is just a bunch of battles, and one instance where you trick the other side by delivering a letter with fake info.
Legend

I member parts of most of those. Just had no clue what the quest names were.

I hate temporarily impossible puzzles in puzzle games. Monsters Expedition has just a few and now whenever I'm stuck I have no idea if I need to think harder or go solve unrelated puzzles. The game uses a fog of war over the map so you can't know what's even just one island over.

I'm going for 100% so the game's doing something right, but it has a lot of issues outside its sokoban gameplay.

i'm playing sea of stars.

i typically hate turn based RPGs but i'm mostly enjoying this one. it is very, very basic. no exploration, no branching stories, very simple armor progression (whatever you find is always 1 better), very basic combat. yet i'm still enjoying it. it's soo easy to zone out to. the art work is pretty. the music has been good except in 1 area to me.

100% of expeditions done. Still have some snowmen remaining but I think I'm calling it for monster's expedition. The fog of war is just so unfun in these later stages, at least for me.

7/10. Moment to moment is often pretty fun and is better than Baba is you and Stephen's sausage roll imo but it's just the exact same thing hour after hour.

"follow me and we will talk to the counselor."

*Turns around*

"Well hello counselor"

Lol.

I have one more trophy with the main game, one more with the dragonborn dlc. I still have to do the Dawnguard DLC.

And then I can put Skyrim away for another 8 years.

My main save is at 59 hours, and I've put probably 7 hours into two other save files to finish some quests that I messed up/didn't want on my main save.

That's shorter than I expected for the plat.

Completed the Talos Principle. Got all the sigil and stars in 27 hours. Almost as enjoyable at when I played it the first time.

Things felt familiar but still a challenge. I can remember I had help on 2 of the stars the first time round and still had to get help on how to work out that dang clock puzzle.
All in all, I completed this a lot quicker than the first time round because of previous experience but still not quicker than legend lol

Now on to the DLC.
