Quote from: kitler53 on Sep 30, 2023, 04:10 PMI dunno.  I started a replay once.  I bailed after a couple hours.  I found that I remembered everything and the joy just wasn't there.   it was like 2 years for me which maybe wasn't long enough.

I've given thought to replaying fez again. it's been like 11 years now.

I first played it about 3 years ago but my memory just isn't that great. I do find myself beating levels like I'm Legend, so vaguely remembering how to solve the puzzle does at as clues but not a deal breaker.

I think I remember Talos principle having a good difficulty level. Not mindless like so many puzzle games, but not annoying either. I definitly remember really having to think on some of those optional puzzles, like an underground cave on a floating island or something? IDK.

some of it is just inherit to the puzzle mechanic.   so many puzzle game involve a literal or figurative "switch".   it can be in either position A or B.  talos principal has a solution but it is more analog which helps make it so the level design does "tell" the solution.

I remember 1 puzzle in particular that I was having a hard time with and I finally found a solution that involved borrowing a beam from a neighboring puzzle.  I thought to myself that can't be what they wanted.  I looked it up and sure enough the expected solution was a lot simpler and did not require the borrowed beam.  still, I felt proud of myself.

Was that the correct solution for a later puzzle? I remember borrowing a beam too.

There's a few puzzles that require a neighbouring beam to get the stars. I think the main puzzles are self contained.

The DLC? I think I still need to complete that. I got a fair way through it, just need to mop a few things up.

That makes sense. I went for all the stars.

Earlier one actually,.. was how i got the idea.  The way i did it borrowing the beam was very complex and require pinpoint accuracy.   ...whch is why of felt like a hack.  My beam was going through the corner of a pillar.

The dlc was fantastic.  The challenge puzzels especially were great.  From what i've read few manage to get them without a guide but i did it by myself.

Well this game is still providing hidden secrets I didn't find before. I think I just found the optional puzzle you are talking about. Also discovered the hidden laser on the moon in another level.

SWORDF1SH

Edit. Actually scrap that. I know which puzzles you're talking about now. I've just got an axe and smashed a door to get into one of the optional puzzles. I remember these ones now. The one I was referring to before edit was a Pink Floyd easter egg. Did you discover that one?

Don't remember. I know I looked up a few of those secrets so I'll have to check my notes.

Been on my wishlist for a while but all I know is that it has good reviews. Outside of a dev talking about it today, I've never actually seen it mentioned anywhere.

Only $9.99 so I'll buy.

I have one more quest-line for base Skyrim and then I have to level up to 50 and then I'm done with base Skyrim.
