Tomb Raider coming 2016 to ps4 and pc

Square Enix announced today that the previously Xbox-exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider will be coming to additional platforms in 2016. "The game will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch," the press release reads, "coming to PlayStation 4 (PS4) in Holiday 2016." Thankfully, the upcoming Windows 10 and Steam release isn't held to the same window of console exclusivity and will arrive in "early 2016," though no more specific date was given.
Rise of the Tomb Raider was announcedduring last year's Microsoft E3 press conference, and later revealed to be an Xbox exclusive during Gamescom a few months later. The decision was met with a huge amount of frustration from fans of the series who had played the previous game on a PlayStation console. In response, Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher wrote:

Today's announcement with Microsoft is one step to help us put Tomb Raider on top of action adventure gaming. Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011. We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past - we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft.

In December of last year, Square Enix confirmed that its "partnership with Microsoft on Rise of the Tomb Raider does have a duration" but the publisher added, "we aren't discussing those details at this time and are focused on collaborating to deliver a great game on Xbox One and Xbox 360."
It's unclear why the news of additional platforms was kept secret for nearly one year after the announcement of exclusivity, but still months before the game's November release. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released Nov. 10 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Here's the entire 14-minute demo from this year's E3:

this timed-exclusivity deal has been such a cluster fudge for ms.  anger when it was announced.  now a ps4 release announced months before the xbox release ensuring the absolute minimal amount of benefit from the dollars spent.    ..and by the pre-orders and internet polls it looks like TR is going to flop on xbox this holiday anyways as interest seems almost non-existent.

Who knows.  Supposedly Square and Sony are still working out their deal for Final Fantasy 7.  Powerplay by Square to get more money from Sony?  Or are they really considering an Xbox One port regardless?

Probably won't know until the next wave of information of FF7 comes out. However, based on market trends and Sony's relationship with SE this gen, I'm going to bet on the former.
