Swords are just really cool.

Not really sure what's actually going on in that picture. It's the first time I've seen a player character, or at least what appears to be, wielding a sword. I've not heard of any melee weapons in the game beyond what your class might use for its melee attack and the few we know of certainly didn't use a dang meat cleaver.

You're right, I haven't heard about it either and it'd be a weird thing to keep a secret. Makes me wonder if there'll be some other cool ranged weapons

It wouldn't surprise me if Bungie kept a few things secret before launch. We should also consider that this was possibly an old shot from a time when they may have had melee weapons in the game. The sword that character is using almost looks like the sword of a Hive Knight. Considering the Titan is attacking a Hive Thrall it wouldn't surprise me if at one point Bungie allowed you to pick up the dropped weapons of your enemy and this screenshot was taken during a fight with the Hive where a Knight was killed shortly before.

That being said, we do know that Bungie claims the expansions will add new weapons to the game. I'm sure we could convince them through feedback to allow us to use melee weapons. Could you imagine playing as a Titan with something like the Gravity Hammer or being a Hunter while using a Plasma Sword? I'm sure Halo fans would wet themselves because I'm one of them and I surely would.

That sounds....amazing. If they add swords for Titans they should defo add crossbows/bows for hunters and perhaps staves for warlocks

OP has been updated. Videos were moved to the bottom so information didn't feel buried in the first post. New videos added. Enemy pictures were replaced with a single screenshot, much like the classes, since the images took up too much space and having them all represented in one was convenient. Brief descriptions of each enemy added.
