Apparently Oculus on PS4/XBO is back in the possible pile.

No reason why not.

Because Sony want to sell theirs?

Best case, Sony allows pc use for PM

I don't think there is enough conflict between PM and OR to stop OR from coming to PS4.
In the same way that third party controllers have made it there.  In this case, I think it benefits Sony much much more to ensure that it is coming to the platform as well.
If people are being asked to choose between OR and PM, OR will win out on the PC crowd unless PM supports PC.  If it does support both, it could go either way.  These are expensive devices and if they know what's best, supporting both is the best option.
If PS4 supports both headsets, PM will probably win anyway.

Well if that is the case then I'd only buy Oculus, and skip vive. It would be cheaper that way, although I think vive Wil be the best out of the 3.

Since the earliest days of the Oculus Kickstarter, the Rift has been shaped by gamers, backers, developers, and enthusiasts around the world. Today, we're incredibly excited to announce that the Oculus Rift will be shipping to consumers in Q1 2016, with pre-orders later this year.

The Rift delivers on the dream of consumer VR with compelling content, a full ecosystem, and a fully-integrated hardware/software tech stack designed specifically for virtual reality. It's a system designed by a team of extremely passionate gamers, developers, and engineers to reimagine what gaming can be.

The Oculus Rift builds on the preseQ, immersion, and comfort of the Crescent Bay prototype with an improved tracking system that supports both seated and standing experiences, as well as a highly refined industrial design, and updated ergonomics for a more natural fit.

In the weeks ahead, we'll be revealing the details around hardware, software, input, and many of our unannounced made-for-VR games and experiences coming to the Rift. Next week, we'll share more of the technical specifications here on the Oculus blog.

Virtual reality is going to transform gaming, film, entertainment, communication, and much more. If you're interested in building a next-generation VR game or application, everything you need to start developing for the Rift is available at the Oculus Developer Center.

E3 is just around the corner — this is only the beginning.

plenty of reason why not.

consoles thrive on the "it just works" principle with is put in place via spec standardization.  there are third party controllers but they are required to met the same functional reqs.

OR doesn't have the 9 lights for tracking and therefore can't be swapped 1:1 with morpheous. not 1:1 means multiple development standards means games with setup configurations means breaking the fundamental concept of a console,..  it just works.

besides,..  OR isn't going to directly compete with morpheous.  OR is for lowly pc gamers and pm is for godly ps4 gamers. due to low install games won't be exclusive to either except what sony develops so no one will ever consider both platforms.  .. only their lead/fav platform.

Most of those are software issues.
Valve is working on having a platform for VR, that allows OR and Vive.

I'm overly optimistic on stuff and things.  :D

I doubt or will work with ps4. On a technical level it's fine. OR might have a few issues here and there but nothing big.
