their were people saying that on gaf because a guy had a 5-6 hour span between achieving his first trophy, and the ending game trophy
Not an accurate measurement. The first trophy might've been synced late.

I hate when games don't respect my time. Longer is better, but 50 hours sucks unless each and every minute is great.
Exactly. I rarely buy games that are just way too long. Relatively short and sweet is much better

Not even a matter of syncing, but simply not knowing how long it took to get the first trophy. They're all skill based, not story. So there's no set point to receive any of them (other than completing the game). One could play it for hours without getting a single trophy

Btw shinobi said something interesting about some fights being optional in that you can "run away". I assume it's kinda like TLOU where you might be able to sneak past areas without engaging in fights.. but he did not really explain details.

Yeah, I saw that, if I wasn't banned at the moment this comment may have very well led me into a ban, I have a very hard time reponding to these things without straight up calling the posts battleship. :-D
me too, which is exactly why I'm banned lol. But there is still a huge mod problem there. Look no further than the orders length thread. Was debunked almost immediately yet it remains open. Rumor threads have been locked for a lot less than that. Lord Licthshit spreading false info and intentionally and not banned. Pwrlvl Amy and tons other, including mods, trolling. It'd a cess pool.

Lol foodfather is so full of it. Why doesn't he get moderated for that comment?

Also, DriveClub is amazing lol
Why doesn't sales or ludicrous speed ever get molded for a lot of their off topic trolling?

Garbage forums are almost always the result of garbage mod teams.

Yeah, and I don't have a problem with the posts that do get moderated. It's the posts that don't that get me to scratch my head. Especially when there's precedence of moderation for exact same posts. I mean, make a thread with facts about the Wii U sales being overtracked, or being behind Gc, and bring in numerous posts and polls as examples while being a sony supporter and sit back and watch how fast they abandon their shoot the messenger rule. Or how fast they lock the thread.

And i came in here to talk about the games length after seeing that thread on vgc.

Obviously, 5 hour battleship is battleship. But it's hip shitting on this game so I expect to see a lot of shame talk about its length even though it's probably right were it needs to be for industry standard . I think 12 hours is a decent length. first TLoU play through was over twenty hours on hard And most people said it was a 12 hour game. Probably so on normal because my second playthrough on survivor was 18 hours. And this isn't just me estimating my time like most people. This was straight up from game save files.

We weren't gonna talk about VGC anymore :\

Max TLOU also took me a while, about 16-18 hours i think, on Normal. I was surprised when I then went to some websites and people claimed it was a lot less than that.

Anyway, we already know there's some hipocrisy regardless. RE1 and RE2 are held as the best in the series by most yet they're 6-7 hours long. RE6 is regarded "the worst" yet it's the longest one, at well over 20 hours.
Yeah i know..RE4 isn't all that short.. but personally i found it too long xD the novelty of the early sections wore off and started dragging on in the final 4 hours or so. IMO.

We weren't going to talk about specific VGC members any more and reduce the amount of time we spend talking about that site. Frankly, I'd like to start talking shame about how Polygon handles reviews and why Kotaku went on the cry baby Social Justice Warrior kick recently

.

That's a problem I have with games like this that take too long. The novelties wear off and they start becoming eye rolling. Though I can overlook them if I find the story particularly engaging or the rest of the action is so good that the gimmicks don't bother me.

Dr. Pezus

I think TLoU took me about 14 hours the first time

i think the level design of the early games and exploration and no hand holding telling you where to go exactly and how to get there made them a lot longer initially. But they were great games. I agree that four dragged on.
