absolutely agree.  makes me wonder what they can even bring to this E3 if they were announcing games before even starting them last E3.

when did we ever find out they didnt start crackdown before announcing it?

and yeah, if their "AAA" or "big exclusive" announcements in 2014 were all 2016 games and beyond, then it doesnt spread much confidence. but you guys also should remember that MS blew their load back at E3 2013, and most likely suffered because of it during E3 2014

But they blew their load in 2014 even worse.

Ntkernl leaked what looks like everything they were working on. Then a few months later it was all announced. No suprises are left that would come out soon.

the Ntkernl leak was almost a year and 3 months ago, obviously in that time more games started development and new projects were greenlighted.

there is supposedly a rare game in development, gears and maybe that lionhead new IP isnt just a casual game, idk. i honestly dont expect a strong E3 from MS this year, more about the games that got announced last time (halo, crackdown, scalebound) a CGI trailer for gears, maybe another few CGI trailer games, and if there is a surprise, its gonna be a third party exclusive

It was shortly after E3 that quotes were popping up about the games Microsoft announced and one of them was that Cloudgine was only making the cloud tech behind the next Crackdown and that Microsoft hadn't yet decided on a developer for the game. Cloudgine wasn't the actual developer. It still has yet to be announced who is doing it. I'm not going to bother digging it up. It was one of those one-off quotes from the middle of last year. Regardless, the actual developer of the game, even if they had one, wasn't announced because... reasons?

Yeah more games will have been started, but that'd make this E3 very very week for them.

Considering the majority of Microsoft's developers have been switched to Hololens, I don't think we'll be seeing much.  Unless they bring out the cheque book again, but it didn't help last time.
