A holiday 2016 release would be 4 years.

NES: 6

SNES: 5

64: 5

Gamecube: 5

Wii: 6

Just slightly short for home consoles, but here's handhelds.

Game boy: 9

Game boy color: 3

Gameboy advance: 3

DS: 4/7

DSi: 3

3DS: 3/Continueing

If the NX is a full out next gen system, 2016 is fast but not unrealistically fast. If NX is like a mid gen upgrade, or a strange console/handheld hybrid, then 2016 isn't bad at all. That'd be 5 years for the 3DS.

But what if its an exclusive mobile like device and/or standalone device like the virtual boy was?

DerNebel

Dunno why this thread devolved into a discussion about the NX but I'll just throw in my 2 cents: I still believe that the NX could very well be a handheld.

you don't understand how a unspecified length for a game delay right after a confirmation of new hardware has turned into what it did?

so nintendo is struggling with maintaining support for two systems. But you think they'll throw in a third? If so that's even worse news for wii u than a new home console

You should probably reread your own comments, you brought up the NX with no connection to Zelda at all.

Yeah... Focusing on a new console catalog has nothing to do with this. /Sarcasm

Can we say the last guardian treatment

You assume that they have the right mindset, they clearly do not.

This is the same company that yet to still have a unified account system, is backwards when it comes to online gaming, and completely clueless when it comes to third party relations or even on what people actually want (Yas, 3D and Tablet gaming is the future heuheuheau).

If anything I wont be surprised if "NX" ends up being some sort of extension to mobile gaming (hoping its not though).

If its a new system and a successor as you say it will be - its gonna make the relationship with third parties even worse and the "successor" will have worse results than the WiiU.

Nintendo lucked out on the Wii due to its cheap pricing compared to its competitors and the fact that motion controls became very popular. What can Nintendo do now to catch people's attention now? Virtual Reality? Pure mobile gaming? A Digital Store front on PC platforms?

I dont expect much with "NX" in terms of sales or success. It reeks of Virtual boy failure.

Edit: Assuming if its coming out in 2016. Otherwise if it comes out in 2017 or afterwards then it being a successor would make more sense.

No it doesn't and no we can't, if you watch the video he still clearly states that the game will come to the Wii U.

Anyways to stay on topic.....because its about "NX" or nintendo's next game system and obviously not about Zelda "U"  ::)

Kinda odd that they are not showcasing the next console zelda at E3. They showcased somewhat few months back..why not a new area or a new build? Odd.

If the game does come out for the new system - they'll probably do the Twilight Princess treatment where that game came out on both the Gamecube and the Wii.

But ya, I can see it coming out on the WiiU still.

what's wrong with it? Millions upon millions of dollars,  jobs, opportunity cost... Ect ect. I have no beef with the WiiU. Mostly the horrid nintendo fan base. But wanting an actual good console from nintendo is hater speak I suppose
Hater speak is seeking out negative news for the system and company. The way you talk about it extensively makes it seem as though you enjoy it. Tell me, when you fap to negative nintendo news, do you prefer to use your right hand or your left hand?

It's pretty obvious you take pleasure in seeing some form of meltdown when you post something in a nintendo thread.

But I'll end this here because it's clear this topic is about Zelda, and not your own distaste for the system it's on. Plus I don't like debating with someone who can't admit when they are wrong.
