Spoiler for Hidden:
Apparently a Lego Horizon game is being made.

"While the exact details of the game are unclear, I got wind of an advertisement trailer for the game which was completed last month, which suggests that an announcement is on its way (although admittingly could be delayed). But combining this information with Kuraksis' latest tweet, who finds the majority of his information via trademark filings, it suggests that the trademark has recently been registered (brownie points to anyone who finds it), backing up that an announcement could be soon."

but, but, but,..  a ps account is required.   how dare they?!?!

and it's not even for sales in burundi.   the lost sales are going to destroy sony's PC street cred.

being a more adult franchise i'm not sure aiming this to kids is a great strategy.   i guess the idea is to get them invested into the franchise but also being uninvested probably just means they won't play the game at all.    still,.. a major complaint of mine is that sony isn't making content aimed at my child which is bascially the only reason i feel like i need a switch.   would love for playstation to be a better "games for everyone" device and this is at least effort even if it doesn't work out.

also very curious if the game follows the existing lego games formula or not.    ...having played literally all of them i'm pretty tired of those games.   but the other games are bring movies to a game.  this brings a game to a game so it feels reasonable to think the gameplay of the adult horizon games could influence the lego game.

Surely the cost of the PS5 also prohibits families from buying the console too.

does it?

i'm from the wealthy part of america but a lot of the families around me have 2+ switches in their household.   1 per kid.   ...and nintendo games never go on sale.   playstation is more affordable than that.

...but the more honest truth is most of the parents aren't gamers themselves and kind of just do whatever they are told to by the target/walmart/gamestop employee.   i still hear questions like "so can i play playstation games on the nintendo system?"

i honestly think this is why the younger generations are playing are statistically playing more on mobile.
"mom, can i have a switch for xmas?"
"no.   here's my old ipad.   i've been told it can play games."

...but i'm probably of track to your comment horizon.   i don't entirely think playstation would/can become the most popular way to play games with kids or anything.   it's just as an adult gamer i bought the ps5 for me.   would be nice if if there was enough games my kid wanted to play on the system that he wasn't begging me for a switch every holiday.

My (under 6 year old) kids play on my PlayStation more than I do.
Which is not the typical experience for most people.

easy to say when you're too busy collecting movies to play anything.

it was actually easier to have my son play at 6.  we did all the Lego games.  but I couldn't find anywhere to go from there.

I'll really miss London. They had so many funky games and conference moments. It's amazing that they didn't bring back playstation home for vr. I loved it even though there was nothing to do.

Not what I want to hear. The public perception of gaming is great nowadays compared to what it used to be, in large part thanks to ND.

What's left to improve that's based off game quality and not based off pushing a message?

Would be kinda funny if they followed up tlou2 with a pacifist game.

I feel like you're reading into his statements far more than I am.

What could he be reffering to? I can only think of mainstream misconcoptions of gaming, like videogames=violent.

Mainstream frequently still thinks of games as not even really having stories. Games like TLOU are changing that, why not something that has an evolving story?

It's a very generic statement, could even just be an exaggeration.

Maybe I'm giving ND too much credit for what they've already accomplished. I feel like Uncharted 2 was when the mainstream realized games could be just as immersive as movies and TLOU game+show have shown the mainstream that games can be dramas.
