Konami announces plan for brand new Metal Gear series

The latest title in the METAL GEAR series, "METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN" (below, "MGSV: TPP"), will be released as planned starting on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in North America, Latin America, and Europe, followed by Japan and Asia on Wednesday, September 2. Hideo Kojima will remain involved throughout.
In addition, Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. will continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the METAL GEAR series following "MGSV: TPP." We greatly anticipate and deeply appreciate your ongoing support for METAL GEAR.
As the next step in the series, KONAMI has already resolved to develop a new "METAL GEAR" title.
We will be conducting auditions for main staff to lead the development.

Well that's really just a huge middle finger to Kojima, but bring it on Konami, now that this thing is in motion already anyway I wanna see you run Metal Gear into the ground.

Konami have hired me to replace Kojima on SilentHills. Getting rid of Daryl and the horror, focus is now on the dog from the SH2 ending.

I wonder if those idiots in charge of Konami realize that Metal Gear is the only game they're still making? I actually recall one financial statement that stated their profits only came from Peace Walker...

Not to mention that the Metal Gear franchise has been driven by Kojima. Without him it just won't be the same.

...but i have hopes that metal gear just died and kojima will go on to develop something new that i can get onboard with.

meh. i'm waay to late to start that franchise now. i only want it to die so i can join in on the next great thing.

I havent started on the franchise either (Even though I have the original trilogy on PS2).

I'mma get on it sometime in the future :O.

The level design was beyond stupid. You'll be in a level, you'll have a mission to do. The goal will be inside of a building. While you're seaching for this building there's a bunch of other building, with basements leading into them with absolutely nothing inside. There's stages with stairs going to a platform to make you go down the other set of stairs to the area you need to go. All because they put a huge wall you can't get around. Other than those stairs. Then you have Peace Walker, which Kojima made, and the level and overall game design was leagues better.
