While the day is still young, today is the most active day of October so far! Tomorrow will surely beat it, though.
HALO AND PARIS!

All we need next is a big thing from Nintendo.

Yeah, like that would do anything for this site's activity ;D

Who's gonna be active in the live view thread tomorrow? I will be, for sure.

Great! You better post a lot though. Sony's TGS show was disappointing, pretty much no one showed up so the thread got barely any posts

I think that's because most of us didn't want to have to deal with

what you need to know is that football is a very strategy heavy game like chess.   don't get me wrong,.. there is still athletic skill involved but the coaching and play calling is a huge part of winning or losing.  get the right formation, make the right call, then execute the play.

think of it like this:

if soccer, basketball, hockey are all action adventure games then football is a turn-based RPG.

That's a nice analogy actually. I always just got the impression it was mainly a sport about brute force and tackles

i mean it helps to be a great athlete but if you are an amazing running back and your offensive line doesn't make the right blocks to create an opening in the exact spot the running back expects to run you won't get very far.

but i completely understand where you are coming from.  in high school i was in the band and we used to play at the football games and i thought the sport was boring as fudge but i also didn't have a clue about what was going one.  a bit later i asked my brother to explain the rules of the game to me.  the more i understood about the strategy elements of the game the more i came to appreciate it.   it's probably my favorite sport to watch now with hockey as my other favorite.  very different experiences but in some ways that's what i like about having those be the two sports i enjoy watching.  actually, i like watching tennis too but that is a hard sport to watch if you don't have the expensive packages on cable.  the free channels don't broadcast much except the final couple of matches of any tournament.
