Well it almost is. The game is quality. I can understand some people not liking it but the game is well made. I was expecting a broken game, "garbage" you might say. I was surprised.

Hmm, for me a game is not simply garbage based on whether it is broken. A game could be garbage to me based on its source material (Barbie games), its gameplay offering, lack of gameplay without a good story to support it, or a number of other reasons or combinations of them. Knack just looks like a poor man's Kameo to me. If I ever get a chance to try it without paying, I will. However, with the reviews it received there is just no way I'm spending any amount of money on it when I could be using that money for games I either know are good or feel much more comfortable with.

Well $10 isn't a lot (it was on sale recently). No idea how Kameo plays but think of Knack more like a cartoony God of War mixed with Demon's Souls

I could rationalize the price of everything and be broke before I know it. I'm not going to spend money on something just to find out it was a waste when I've already read the reviews and seen the videos that brought me to the conclusion that it sucks and would be a waste of my time to play it on top of the time I spent looking into it.

I'm the same way. If I didn't buy knack at launch, I probably would have never even played it.

The game first and foremost needs to value my time.

I'm also a collector, so I buy new and physical. Only digital games I bought that also had retail releases are Driveclub and Pikmin 3. Driveclub was a stupid impulse buy with ps+ discount and pikmin was discontinued so new discs cost $80.

Why would Nintendo do this.

Maybe to make it a collectors item?

That seems to be the case with amiibo.
