Wasn't that Level 5?

The last game I played from them was Resonance of Fate and I really disliked that, still it's sad to see a console JRPG dev be relegated to making dang smartphone games, there's already so few left.

You may have played Final Fantasy XIII-2/Lightning Returns?

Nah, it was tri-Ace for Square Enix.
They also made Star Ocean.

Nah I was done with the FF XIII saga after the first one, that was mediocre enough, also I prefer it when FFs conclude their story in one game and don't try to force in direct sequels when they aren't needed, same with FF X-2, I only own that because I got it as a gift and never finished it.

It was different with X-2.  I loved X, and they only made a sequel because it was super popular.
Which is different from XIII, imo.

Well I was gonna say Tri Ace made both those games.  Probably the last console games they'll ever make :(

BasilZero

Star Ocean
Valkyrie Profile

RIP

Unless SE can find teams that will work on those two titles which I doubt....

Squareenix owns rights to all the IPs.

They just lost the backbone who develops it.
