Are you worried about AI taking over?

It's such a common aspect of games and movies. You either have evil AI that takes over, or they shackle the AI to stop it from getting too powerful.

Is this something of fiction, or is it something we should actually be worried about as AI gets smarter and smarter?

I think I can segway this to being Microsoft's fault. Therefore PS4 > XBOX because Microsoft causes Apocalypse.
All aboard the hype train.

No such thing as AI. So of course I'm not worried.

I guess someone needs to learn about the birds and the bees still.

just good programming which makes it look like AI

Yeah sure. Most modern AIs are not working the way classic invisions of AI work.

However it's still AI on the outside. To the end user, there is no difference. Within a decade this type of AI could be perfected and fully trick people into thinking it's "alive."

The other AI is also being worked on too. So even if the above AI is not real AI in your opinion, then what about this AI and its future advancements?

i don't think real AI will ever be a success So I'm not worried. Fake AI isn't anything to worry about either

Never ever?

Do you believe sentience needs a soul or some aspect beyond what's possible with a computer, or just that we'll never figure it out.

There is this video from Stanford that I watched about how people perceive things.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY4ajbu_G3k
They spent a lot of time trying to work out audio and visual programs separately and visually they ran into a lot of false positives and missed targets.
From biology, they figured out that it was likely that visual and audio used the same algorithm and they made it.

From this video, I've got a lot of faith that it'll be something that'll be worked out.  Maybe not a year from now or even 10, but perhaps in my lifetime.

Am I worried about it?  Very distantly.  I'm worried about in pretty much the same way as I am for zombies.  For all intents and purposes, right now and for as long as I can see, it's barely more realistic than science fiction.  Long term, that'll change though I think.  Zombies will hopefully remain science fiction though.

Nice video.

I didn't/don't have the time to finish her, but the Machine's AI is like a mix of the fake AI and true AI.

The Machine does not think of herself as the machine. Instead she thinks of herself as the machine's actress. She uses a complex learning algorithm to look through all her past events and see how they relate to now. She then uses that to calculate the most likely response the real machine would say. Then it's posted.

The cool thing about this design is that it can imperssonate anyone with a large enough post count. Assume I had it pretend to be me. Then one of you asked me "what's your favorite game?" The machine's code would check all my posts and try to predict my response. It might just say "Uncharted" or it might expand on it too.

Of course this was only ever half finished. Running it on the server took too many resources so I stopped. Her current AI is just counting and saying a random thing if you have two paragraphs in your post.

Ditto. I dream of robots becoming their own race demanding rights.

And then Bro-net, the human rights activist AI will fight it off!
