Has GAF gone down hill in quality as of late, or is it just me?

I started reading GAF like 4 years ago. I made my account like 2 years ago. It was like the shinning example of a mature and educated community. Certainly had its crazies like everywhere, but the percent of them was low. Had a lot of elitests as well, but it wasn't too bad.

However as of late it feels like just an average game forum with moderators. No different than vgchertz or reddit. So many toxic threads as of late. I mean I only post in the indie thread now.

Is it just me or do any of you think the same?

Literally all gaming forums (aside from this of course ) I've been to have gone down in quality in the last months, I think that Neogaf is actually still the one that went down the least in comparison to the others.

But for the moment I'm sticking with this forum here, maybe making a comment on reddit now and again if I need imaginary internet points, but aside from that the vizioneck forum is fine for me. Way less trolling or flaming, the community is small and "intimate" enough that people understand when you're making a joke and don't lose their shame over it and it's just generally a lot calmer.

I agree about us. I think ideally we could be a bit bigger with more activity, but it is awesome knowing everyone. So much controversy is avoided because of that.

Yeah there are definitely still a couple on the chertz that would be great additions to this forum (or maybe they are members already and just aren't that active) and a couple new faces wouldn't hurt either, but overall it shouldn't get too big.

There are a few people with accounts here from there that never post.  I think we just need Badgenome here.

i'd love to have badgenome.  that guy is hilarious.  i like rol too, he might be a tad out of place here as a staunch nintendo fan but that guy is smart and witty.

I dont care about shaming sales thread discussions (sorry guys), mah system is moe powrfool than u'rs arguments, and heueheauehau graphics/60 FPS PARITY discussions.


I mainly go there for actual gaming discussions, the OTs for games, The Steam thread, gaming news for both AAA, mid tier and indie tier titles, and occasionally during my lunch break at work I check the General discussion section for World news which is pretty decent (I dont post in general - sometimes but not all the time, mainly only on gaming discussion and the OT threads).

The hype threads are awesome, the game leak threads are awesome, along with that I also love how majority of my purchases both for consoles AND PC gaming were thanks to GAF's threads and information circle.

So nope, I still love GAF !

For me the good outweighs the bad unlike in VGChartz where the bad outweighs the good .
