Reviews shouldn't care about price/value

And they also shouldn't be out of ten.

Instead the scores should be like benchmarks. I think I'll set up a formula for this and score a few games.

In the future, games will be scored by a computer using info from the brain to gauge a real time and accurate score.

I feel like Skyrim gets most of its praise because of the large amount of content. Should it?

I don't think so. Take free to play mmos. By that type of reasoning wouldn't they be the best games of all time?

Not if they are pay to win, but I agree with what you are saying.

Ludicrous Speed

Disagree. Shouldn't be a major factor in the score except in extreme cases, but it should certainly be a factor imho.

But what about a month after launch? A bad game will probably sell bad so the price would go down faster than a good game. At $40 then the review becomes flawed.

Wouldn't it be better for the consumer to decide on price/value themself? It's like buying a tv. You don't care if it was an overpriced peice at launch. You only want the review to tell you how good it is.

I agree, because:

I'm thinking I'd like to re-launch VE Source reviews using this method. Who knows, people might actually like it.

0 is the divider between positive and negative opinions. If the reviewer overall found the game more fun to play than just staring at a brick wall, then the lowest score is a zero. If the reviewer would have prefered to stare at a brick wall instead of playing it, the score is positive.

Around 10 is when a game could start to be classified as fun, or more than a meh. 20 is super awesome GOTY level. Here are some examples.

The Last of Us: 25
Uncharted 2: 24
Uncharted 3: 19
Uncharted Golden Abyss: 17
Uncharted 1: 15
Bayonetta 2: 16
Bayonetta 1: 14
Super Smash Bros Wii U: 21
Killzone SF: 11
Killzone 3: 14
Killzone Mercenary: 14
Metrico: 3
Journey: 21
The Unfinished Swan: 19
Road Not Taken: 6
Proteus: 10
FEZ: 20
Antichamber: 14
God of War 3: 18
God of War Ascension: 14
Skyrim: 8

I agree.. Just like a short indie game shouldn't forcibly be favoured or "forgiven" due to price, neither should a full priced short game be punished. Judge it for what's there, for what it is and what it tries/tried to be

As for the scores, it should be as simple as Rotten tomatoes. Fresh or rotten. And aggregate that.

I rate my games from a score of 1-100.

However I rate them in 9 categories and give a free 10 points.

So overall 100 can be 10 imo at least for me.

Here's my recent review: http://steamcommunity.com/id/BasilZero/recommended/263300/

Also price is never discussed in any my of reviews due to the fact that price can always change and its amazing how often/fast they do after release.

It's not so much of its content, but the overall exploration and world building.  I did a few random side quests in Skyrim.  It was cool that they were not important.  Like, it made me feel like I was part of the world.  Very few games give you that.

Yes stuff like that can be cool. Still only a score of 8.

Destiny gets an 11.

Should reviews count price when it is hardware?
