R&C is a shooter of diminishing popularity too. Difference is that the last Resistance was great while the last few R&C games haven't been great.
Also, R3>Any Killzone game
Regarding other genres: RPG (Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, exclusive JRPGs), kart racer (LBP Karting, Modnation Racers), fighters (PSASBR)

eat a sucker.  the last two rachet and clank games were great (crack in time and into the nexus).  in fact i just plat'd into the nexus this weekend,.. great game.  you can't say R&C is diminishing based on the spinoffs (all4one and full frontal assault) any more than you can say halo is diminishing because halo wars sold like 1/4 as much as halo 3...

rachet and clank has never been a mega seller but it has a very consistent fanbase which you can't say about resistance and R&C probably benefits from a much smaller development budget than resistance would.

wrt RPG i was thinking a much more traditional RPG game alla final fantasy or ni no kuni.  none of the first parties have efforts there.   souls/bloodborne is significantly different imo.

karting i think they've half asses and i like the genre so i just want them to try harder there.   they need to fudge off on the user generated content and realize i'd much rather have a game with a reasonable load time than a game where i can create an infinite number of kart and track cosmetic designs.   mod nation racers was actually a great game so long as you just replayed the same track over and over and over again instead of trying to ever load a new track...

PSASBR was another place where i think sony half assed it.

i'd like to see sony take a stab at a 2d platformer as well to go against and compliment mario and rayman.  such a great genre and needs more love.

I played r2, but never finished it. I played r3, but never got past the begining. I played r:bs, but only made it half way.

Meanwhile I've beat Killzone 3, shadow fall, and mercenary.

Killzone is much better, and resistence is just meh. It feels like an early PS2 game. BS was the best imo.

i only tried R1 but i couldn't get passed around the 3 chapter.  the story was just soo uncompelling and horribly told and the gameplay was just to average to care.

i've traditionally loved killzone but i'll admit that while i played a ton of kz:sf multiplayer i only got to the second chapter on the campaign.  i should really give that a second chance...

SF has lots of weird issues with its campaign as a whole, but lots of specific parts are great.

I really liked resistance personally for campaign and co-op multiplayer was so-so imo
