I'm possibly msunderstanding the statement, but didn't Sony outsell MS' November and December combined?  So unless Sony outsold the Xbox One by a lot in December, like a huge margin, isn't... the tracking company... wrong with their initial statement?

ethomaz

My summary on GAF.

QuoteTo avoid confusion:

+ PS4 sold more in BF and CM
+ PS4 sold more in December
+ PS4 sold more in November + December
+ Xbox One sold more in November * that means it sold more in the first weeks of November *

That is it.

The gap is widening in UK.

It's what ethomaz said
X1 won November by a small margin and only because of pre-BF weeks
PS4 then kept winning
thus selling more overall in Nov+Dec

Raven

So basically, the X1 took the UK in November thanks to timing but lost the holiday season there overall.

But that's what I'm saying, the PS4 had to have sold an insane amount in December.  Like, a massive amount.  I personally think the tracking was wrong in the first place.

Not necessarily..as I said, the X1 advantage in November was likely very small to begin with. Probably less than 10k for all we know.

What? XB1 outsold PS4 by a tiny margin in Nov so PS4 didn't have that much to make up for in Dec.

Not a insane amount to be fair if the gap was close in November.

Think like Xbox One won by a good margin in the first three weeks of November but PS4 closed the gap in the BF... so Xbox One won November by a small margin.

PS4 just needed to win December with a bigger gap than Xbox One won November... that put PS4 ahead Nov + Dec.

Eg.

Xbox One won November by 10k
PS4 won December by 30k

Dec + Nov PS4 won by 20k ;)

PS. I believe the gap was bigger than these little numbers... maybe close to 50k than 10k.

Then how did the Xbox One outsell the PS4 by 5 weeks?  That's why I don't buy the tracking.  Also the PS4 outsold all of December + November combined.  That's a huge amount to outsell the Xbox One in just December.  I mean, their claim would be wrong if it was a statistical tie for those 5 weeks, which would have given the PS4 the leverage to gain those sales.

Most of these Xbox One wons was statistical ties... some less than 1k diff.

Xbox One deals started early November so it won for most of November. PS4 deals only really started on BF but it won from then on. Perhaps if Sony had started doing deals the same time as MS then X1 would never have won a week. Still, well done MS for making the UK holiday a lot closer than the rest of the year

So Xbox One selling more in UK was just for some weeks... monthly PS4 won both November and December.

Ohhhhhhhhh I want to see the Kowen face right now.
I don't know how he keeps up with the nonsense... It's humorous at least

Wouldn't those be 20th October to 22nd November? With most of them being small leads (except Halo week i guess)

I agree with this.  I also don't agree with the tracker's initial statements if that is the case.  It's actually possible the PS4 technically outsold the Xbox One those weeks as well.

Yeah I think X1 may have won the last week of October and then all of the 4 weeks in November, so 5 weeks in a row. Then PS4 won all of the 5 weeks in December I presume by a larger margin than X1's 5 wins to take the overall victory
