Quote from: nnodley on May 24, 2025, 05:06 AMI'm at the beginning of Act 2. I get bosses have phases, but in games like these where the bosses are purposefully hard, it's not fun a lot of times.
But like you can just play on easy like me! 8)

Spoiler for Hidden:
Did you try fighting the old bad guy? I just kept trying to heal gustave, not remembering I had an upgrade that stopped me from being able to heal.

Didn't try a single attack.

Yeah I am on easy. lol

I just want the story mostly. Phases are fine when you know they are happening. But to kill a boss to 0 then all of sudden it's back to full health is BS to me.

And yes to the spoiler.

I'll likely do some farming and see what kind of builds I can make

I completely agree with you.

phase 2 should come when the boss hits half health not when they hit 0 and then get a band new 2nd health bar.

it's a small but important distinction.

I agree in part.

Heeling is fine, start the second phase maybe way later than the half way point if you want.

But absolutely do not let a healthbar reach zero unless the thing is dead.

I know in later fights claire obscur respects that but maybe it didn't for one of the bosses noodle just encountered, it at least felt like it reached zero in phase 1.

Well hopefully this is just more of a one off in the game then.

... it'll keep happening. But it'll be before the boss reaches zero health.

I didn't mean to sound definitely about that "half health" bit. lots of bosses have 3 phases not just two.

but yours is a good statement.

Yeah that I'm ok with

I see people saying Sciel is not that great to use but she is my favorite. Along with Verso. There is a gradient attack for sciel that is powerful

Miel is my strongest.

I can do ~20,000 damage with her base attack after using gradient to get her into a double damage mode, and after a pictros that doubles base attack damage after shooting, and after a pictros that makes the base attack hit twice.

Yeah I'm not quite sure how high of damage I can do yet since I'm still capped at 9,999.

With verso I have a picto that allows me to start with rank B but I have half health but I've gotten his health up to like 1900 so he starts with decent health still with a base attack that hits twice and a ton of pictos/luminas that make me start with one extra AP on battle start and gain AP on perfect dodges. I can usually have full AP within a round or so with all in the party.

nnodley

Still haven't quite found out the best picto/lumina variations for the characters but they are all fairly strong.

The cap was frustrating me so I really invested in multi hit moves. Cap applies per hit, not per attack.

ahhh guess I never really paid attention to that. But yeah, I typically go for more of the 5-6 hit skills and coupling with the AP gains so I can use them more often.

nnodley

I think I have a lumina too where if one gains AP then everyone gains an AP too. Once per turn
