Made some good progress.

I love overworlds in games and I love this overworld, but some of the locations are pretty bad.

I legit thought my game was glitched and the camera was disconnected. But it's actually on purpose. Just, from what I have experienced so far, an empty plot of land with an item and a fixed camera.

Other than that, really really loving it. It is nailing way more than I ever expected.

Like it knows when to be serious, and it knows when to have fun. These people are the most real people in an action game.

Yeah the area between the main locations is weird. I was very confused at first. Cause I walked by a ruined building and the character was as tall as a "floor" in a building and felt jarring. But it's a fun and unique feeling area though

I just started Act 2. How far are you?

Still in Act 1. Just past the Flying Waters location. I've been playing Indiana Jones mostly this past week.

Indy is great too.

You haven't encountered the thing I was complaining about yet.

Also I wish the map had ubisoft style markers to show progress. I'm a completionist!

in my opinion that's the sort of thing that should only unlock near the end game via a semi-difficult to obtain upgrade.

having that too early is terrible imo.

I guess actually what I want is an inverse ubisoft. Instead of markers that tell me what I have left, just put a gold shimmer on a level once it's 100%ed.

A fair amount of maps/levels have been too hard for my current level so I def want to backtrack to them. Just gonna totally forget which ones I skipped if I spend some time away from the game.

I kind of prefer the slightly more informative version of "3 of 5 complete". but yeah. I prefer this sort of system.

don't tell me exactly where to go but also don't make me search the entire game world for that "last one".

I also enjoy the systems that are like the game of "hot and cold". a beep when I near a thing that beeps louder the closer I get.

I guess that only works with collectables not missions though.

I'm really confused with the game. Like it feels as if I have missed something major, progression wise.

Maybe I am just an hour away from it making sense.

Legend

It now makes sense.

But it is probably the worst way I have ever seen this handled in a game.

Spoiler for the end of Act 2, but nothing story related. Just game "length" related.

Spoiler for Hidden:
The map is full of a bunch of stuff you can't interact with yet. Either it is too high level or a mechanic blocks you.

But you have to just ignore all that and do the final point of no return mission.
Horizon

Finished it recently. I'd give it a 9.5. Probably GOTY. Has the most refreshing and unique narrative and story in gaming and entertainment from the past decade or so.

Also as a Brit this game feels so french haha.

I love the baguette outfits!

Ok this game has done my bigger pet peeve with bosses multiple times in the past 2 bosses I've fought. You get their health all the way to 0 and boom nope they get new weapons and attacks and have full health again. One of absolute worst game design decisions ever, imo

It's the second phase!?!?

That's how video game bosses work.

Which bosses are you talking about? End of act 2? I finished act 2.

I'm at the beginning of Act 2. I get bosses have phases, but in games like these where the bosses are purposefully hard, it's not fun a lot of times.
