The engineer just whispered in the robots ear. What did he say!?

Wow optimus can talk. Wonder how they pulled that off. xAI?

Finally showed video of one pouring a beer. These could be teleoperated but the beer glass got a bit stuck, I'm not sure a teleoperating human would make the same mistake.

Haha optimus just checked a guys id! That sure was impressive but 99% sure it was teleoperated.

Could be the same voice as the other clip. Hard to tell. If they are teleoperated its pretty impressive. If live AI, it's extraordinarily impressive. I'm doubtful.

Cool to see the hand again. This one is designed like a real hand with the muscles in the arm.

Just so fluid most of the time.

yeah that was my thought every time I saw the one doing drinks.  I was like this could easily be teleoperated.  Its all about the experience so I could see it being that way for some of the more complex stuff at least.

just saw the "robovan" video.   that thing has 0 clearance.   that thing is going to bottom out anywhere that even the slightest amount of hills...

too much focus on "style".  it will cost too much and not be very practical.

I think it's more designed for companies than for regular people. So it just needs to be cheaper than those types of minibuses.

Lack of road clearence needs to be an optical illusion or yeah it wouldn't work on any public road. A small speedbump would kill it. Maybe that's how we'll stop the ai uprising.

Yeah once I was able to see more robot examples, it's a mix of teleop and ai. The first vid really made me think it was ai since the tech said optimus also knew sign language, but the voices are all just people with mics. The motions when they react to people are also teleop, but the dancing and walking are ai.

It's all but ready for a theme park. Only problem atm is that they can't be touched. A little kid would run up and hug a leg only to get hurt.

I think it's funny how even after an event like this, people are so braindead with comparing the Tesla bot to other robots.

Maybe it's similar to how old videogames look worse than you remember them. People saw a random robot years ago and have seen plenty of movie robots since, so their brains remember the real robot as if it was as good as the sci fi robot.

This is, as far as I am aware, the first time ever that humanoid robots have walked amongst public crowds (Private event but still, 2,500 random people). That is a huge milestone.

Wait, Tesla stock crashed following this. Looks good to me?

cry wolf syndrome.

elon refused to talk details.  this is not the first time elon promised something big only to take 6+ years to deliver anything.

specifically elon refused an update on the affordable version of a car. with shipments of cars contracting that's what he needs to deliver.
