Lolol.  Changing name to Halo Studios.

Probably a good thing for them to move to Unreal

Heh thanks. I was on mobile so didn't feel like making a new thread

wtf that is so stupid. I can't see the rebranding as anything but a shallow attempt at hiding their legacy. 343i already was the Halo studio and everyone knew it was the Halo studio.

The IGN article is also pretty silly with the move to Unreal. Yeah Unreal will probably work better for them but all their issues with slipspace were caused by 343. Just a few years ago they were acting like slipspace was a new engine built from scratch!

edt: I finished watching their video.

Haha their Halo UE5 tech demo doesn't even look that good. Why did they bother showcasing it?

I understand the name change more though. This is a recruitment push and a new name helps reassure applicants that they will work on Halo and not get pushed off to a different Microsoft project.

The new logo is ugly.

I have no emotions towards halo and I know 343 was some sort of reference to halo already,..   I just don't like this is big public commitment to never working on new IP ever again.

it's reminds me why (at least up to now) I like Sony better.   every studio should have some amount of choice in what their next project is. the answer shouldn't always be another entry in halo.

okay,. just watched the video.   holy recruitment video batman.  after all the layoffs it's pretty offensive to declare this a growing studio and a great place to invest your career.

I mean what they showcased in Unreal at least looks better than halo infinite did. And likely at a faster pace than they could have before.

But yeah that logo is horrible
