this doesn't look great, okayish maybe...

...but I like the idea of games built around the idea of supporting multiple perspectives.   I just finished plucky squire which allows 2d and 3d adventuring.  it was fun.  

being 3rd person for traversal and 1st person for shooting feels like a solid idea to me if done well.
