343i was founded in summer 2009, and released Halo 4 Holiday 2012. That's three years with map packs and CEA in between. Gears was bought in Jan 2014.

My bet is holliday 2016 but then delayed to summer 2017. Microsoft will be pushing hard to get it released as soon as possible.
It's a 2017 game, or they cut serious corners. When did they announce they're working on it? maybe 6 months ago?

If Microsoft doesn't make a push for releasing it fast, yeah 2017 would make sense.
