Reasons you'd start over a game?

Do you ever find reasons to restart game?

-Too difficult because you didn't level up.  
-other reasons.


I think the most common reason I start games over is because if I haven't played in a while, I feel "disoriented."  Not really sure what my goal was at this point.  
What about you?

Yeah lots of times I play a game, and then for whatever reason stop playing for a few months/years.

Going back can be confusing!

Sometimes I forget where I left off, so I decide to start over in order to re-understand what's going on. If I'm not too deep into the game, if I missed some rare item that I wanted, I start over.

i loved and beat a game.  

i have too many games to restart one.  if i put down a game for any reason other than i beat it the is no chance i'll return.

How do you deal with days or weekends where you just don't have time to fit gaming in? Just stop playing that game forever?

of course not.  but i do game every day.  i play at most 2 games at a time and if i hit over a week without playing a game it is probably because it is dead to me.  if it has been long enough to even consider restarting the game because i'm "disoriented" the game is definetly dead to me.

my backlog is about 30-50 games deep at any given time. if the game can't keep my interest i move on.

I'd restart a game if I haven't touched it in a while and I just can't get my bearings anymore.  Breath of Fire 5 forced me to restart the game 4 times, by that point I got fed up and bought a gameshark.
