I assume Microsoft wouldn't care about making Minecraft products using just Mojang. They could easily have Mojang be their managing studio, while other game studios do the bulk of the work.

Right. I just don't feel like enough time has passed for them to have anything Mojang related ready to go that isn't some small game for mobile. I'm not getting that vibe from everything they've been talking about up until now.

Probably like 1, but with core changes and features beyond what simple mods could do.

You have no idea who much wind was sucked out of MS's E3 conference last year. Literally, 90-95% of its conference was leaked beforehand.

Regardless of the leak though, that conference wasn't that great.

I actually didn't see the leaks at all and if I were to describe MS's conference last year with one word, it's "conservative".
