Halo 5 looks like it's going to suck*

Just watch this trailer:

Regardless of how good the gameplay is, this trailer encapsulates that Halo 5 is more than just MasterChief running around and saving the world. Somehow or another, John has screwed up. From all the marketing and everything it looks like John is actually the bad guy and we play as Locke. Regardless of if MC is framed, brainwashed, or truly evil, this sucks.

Because WE are Masterchief. His actions are our actions. It's hard enough in movie sequels to see a beloved character act poorly, but in a game it's just gut wrenching. Regardless of if Halo 5 is a wonderful story with great gameplay, this is just going to suck for fans of the series. For you PS fans who don't relate, imagine if U4 had Drake get consumed by greed over treasure and starts killing innocent people in his way. It'd just suck to deal with that.

I think if he gets framed it could work out well.  Depending on how it's done. 

Though to be honest, I know nothing about Halo. 

But getting framed can get turned around into a good thing, because it doesn't mean he did wrong. 

For example, in your Uncharted example, they could have it more like Drake is working with this new person and they get killed, and everyone thinks it was him.  Then we play as Drake finding the real person.
But to be honest, I don't think the Uncharted example works well.  It sounds lame, I think, but depending on the genre it might not be lame.  It's lame because I feel like it's weird to think of Drake being with cops in the example I had in my head, and without being with cops then I think it changes things even worse. 

That doesn't mean it couldn't work for Halo though, I wouldn't know.  I just wouldn't worry about the game quite yet.

Don't know the first thing about Halo to be able to answer something like that, but am I the only one that dislikes live action game trailers or ads? I remember the Infamous one being meh as well.

though, i never played a halo game.
