Which is one of two ways to access Grand Cathedral. The other option is going to Old Yarnham and killing the Blood-starved Beast. That unlocks the door to the right of the Cathedral Ward lamp as an alternate path.

The Blood-starved Beast is no joke. A lot of people have trouble with him. Most because his attacks are fast, he has a considerable forward leap distance and speed, and he poisons you during the second half of the fight. Since it's an optional boss fight, from everything I've read so far, you may want to avoid doing this boss until you're a higher level and just grind the 10,000 echoes to open the path to Grand Cathedral. That's honestly not a lot of blood echoes at that point in the game.

Not really for me lol. If they shortened the load times and fixed the frame rate bug it would be almost perfect imo
