Dr. Pezus

I'm really getting hyped!

Excited for a strong single player game again

The Order 1886 is for lovers of old fashioned single player experiences. For those who want to see strong efforts in storytelling-focused games make a comeback.

That's pretty much why I'm buying it and why I want it to sell well.

Dr. Pezus

"I think the game is more akin to TLOU in pacing than Gears which is a good thing in my opinion and after completion I would still say this is my favorite new IP so far this generation.
First play through score 9/10"

Another:

"Overall:
Game is AAA with high production values, I don't think the negative outweighs the positive.
In a sense it's more of a journey, a really good and polished one we must endure till a sequel that will make good on gameplay without any black bars.
Is it worth the price of admission now? Yes.
There's nothing else like it on the market now, the wow factor is really big.
And if we put aside the wow factor, it's still a good polished story driven game with production values trough the roof.
Granted if you played uncharted or gears, there's a lot of room this game doesn't deliver, but overall it's something you can't allow yourself not to experience.

The order 1886, is really a new mascot for SONY. Just not too shiny."

"Personally, I think it harkens back to Metal Gear Solid in terms of pacing, to Killzone 2 for its gunplay theatricality, and to Vanquish, for its replayability. It is by no means a short game, either. It's pacing is dictated by the unskippable cutscenes and expository quasi-interactive sections. "

I like the sound of that. Just hope this person isn't just saying this.

If what Max says is true, it sounds like it. Because we know there is a hard difficulty. Unless he simply meant "easiest" and that is actually normal.
the guy said in the comments that it was easy. Don't know a game that doesn't have at least three difficulty settings if there is more than one.

Rorono

Ru already confirmed there's Easy, Normal and Hard.

Raven

^ Well there you go.

My bad. I didn't realize he was playing on easy.
All aboard the hype train.

A lot of games can be cleared in a very short time when set to the easiest difficulty and skipping things that otherwise cause you to explore. Plus, knowing exactly where to go, what the encounters are, and how to handle them. You can make 5 to 10 minute encounters suddenly last only a minute or two. I watched someone play for the first time on hard and take an entire hour just to get through the first chapter.

yeah even when playing TLoU again there was one point where it took me a few minutes the second time, when the first time it took me an entire play session because i had to figure out what to do, do it, know it to do it properly and fight me some fudgy clickers and shame.

im definitely playing this on hard. why? 1- because im not a bedspring. 2- i feel a sense of challenge and difficulty will put me more in the mood of the game, that this shame isnt easy. and it will make it more immersive for me.

@bolded: thats what they set out to do right from the start. if they manage to achieve that i will say they done what they wanted with the game. and those are my favorite types of games. a game that you finish you feel you were on a big journey or adventure, like GoW and RDR.
