BTW - wii u is less than two thirds of the Gc. And nintendo needs to exceed expectations (even though they haven't hit a forecast in years) to not fall further behind. They need 100% yoy increase to hit their forecast even though they were down Yoy in the holidays with their biggest franchises.

just about. That's using similar shipped vs sold ratios of japan for globally. It would be closer than what VGchartz shows. May not be perfect but then again I don't claim to be a sales tracker. Us should probably have a higher ratio of shipped vs sold being that it is the biggest market for sales and has by far the most stores. The others should have a similar ratio to japan and maybe even higher considering the sheer land mass and stores it has to cover. Japan is a pretty small and condensed country. One thing is for dang certain though. 250k on shelves with one country, that's the third or fourth largest market in the world, taking up more than half is in no way realistic

without their handheld monopoly cash-cow nintendo could really be in trouble.  i know they have a lot of cash but realistically they could start making huge losses if their handheld market errodes any further to mobile next gen.  nintendo isn't a diverse company right now,.. this "lifestyle" thing needs to come soon and needs to be successful.

Just to show how massively 3DS is overtracked on VGC:

It has 600k stock in Japan apparently yet only 300k stock globally, so that means, outside of Japan, 3DS has SOLD more than they have SHIPPED by 300k! lol
