Yeah what Legend is asking is a server client to record the data that's running 24/7.

I'm not asking anything lol. That was just an idea from months ago.

Also it wouldn't need to run 24/7. Checking hourly would probably be enough.

@language
Our server is able to run varoius programs, but php would probably be best.

Also have any of you guys checked the terms of use for these websites? They might not like robots.

Yes, but the program you'd write would have to be active 24/7 or your run a script to execute the program... which would have to be running 24/7

Again, I don't think anyone understands how apps work.  You can't just scrape web data.  You'd have to get a hold of Amazon's api and have it spit out some kind of parseable data.  From there it's easy as... pie :P
You can get any data from the Amazon's HTML... it is really easy.

You can schedule the script to run each hour (I don't know if Legend server have it).

Yeah etho is correct. I have a dedicated server that can just run scripts as needed. Called a cron job, going off memory.

Plus there is also a really cool feature built in to the forum for running tasks. Every time any page is loaded, it calls a function that checks if any schedualed tasks need to be done at that time. If so, it then calls that function before generating the page. That's how the machine, forum emails, indexing, etc. work.

Yes, Cron jobs are fun, especially when you have them set up to delete valuable data that affects medical research XD! Though that's essentially what I was saying, you have to have something running 24/7 for the pole. Have it parse the HTML for the right tag, set up an SQL table/script and have the data recorded. Once that's done you write up another script to spit out the data in XML or JSON.

So after a week of the X1 being dropped back down to 350 I think it's safe to say that it's not going to have the success it did against the PS4 that it did over the holidays. It has not been ranked above the PS4 for even one hour these last 7 days. Twice now it has come very close to dropping out of the top 20 and has never gone any higher than 10th. The PS4 has fluctuated between 5th and 10th. Only once did the X1 end up right behind the PS4. It stayed there for a couple hours but then suddenly dropped. This is also considering that the PS4 Black Friday bundle pops into the top 100 every so often and yet no other X1 package is close enough to do so. Furthermore, the DS4 is clearly outselling the X1 controller. Not only has at least one DS4 color been ahead of the X1 controller almost the entire time but two others have always been close by with a fourth color, blue, popping into the top 100 now and then. Also, PS4 titles are ruling the top 100 with twice as many PS4 games compared to X1 titles. Nearly every third party title is selling better on PS4 and there are currently four PS4 exclusives in the top 100 compared to only one X1 exclusive.

PS4 is at #33 and 39 on the UK charts. Xb1 is a no show, although that might be because of the ridiculous amount of SKUs it has. The Order up to #26

Nah..it was charting just fine when the price dropped to 299.99. What's slightly surprising is that even the regular SKU is still 299.99 and yet stopped charting (though it's fairly close, #120)
More surprising is that nobody's buying the Alien isolation bundle at 299.99 (almost #4000 in the charts) but they're buying the one at the same price with no games... Guess that's what happens when you confuse consumers with too many bundles. Some of these are probably moving stock at a snail's pace.

Yeah but I bet if there weren't so many then the standard sku would be charting at least. There's no denying its doing poorly compared to PS4 right now though
