I think it was reported by Polygon that the renewed $50 discount on X1 packages without Kinect is temporary but they haven't decided when. The fact that they went back the first time and are even considering ending it again really makes me facepalm at them.

it's always good to confuse the customer with poorly thought out stances on core product decisions.  how did you not learn that lesson from the xbox reveal?

Yhey called it a promotion in their press statment. But when the real cut comes it will loose it's effect. Although i think it's permanent.

Could be. I wonder what their shipment number will be for this quarter? and more importantly what they'll be for the next.

Depends on what they manage to convince retailers with. If they say "Hey look the price is low, we'll sell more" and some retailers are gullible enough, then not low enough. If retailers are like "piss off, this is the second time you channel stuffed" Then low.

also have to make money to subsidize those failing tv and phone businesses that threaten to put sony out of business.
