It looks a lot like Street Fighter X Tekken. There's practically no Fancy animations for Ultras. Ex has different levels per characters. They didn't show what the ex bars can do though.

I know.  It's a shame. Street Fighter X Tekken is what Street Fighter 4 should have been; a mix of timing and button based combos.

You follow the fighting scene a lot, right?

Not as much as I'd like to.  My friends told me about Capcom Cup today.  But I was in Buffalo all day.  I got home and settled too late.  I started watching the stream but Momochi already won and got his prize.  I was just sticking around to see what they were gonna end with. I was surprised with the Charlie reveal and game play.  Street Fighter was a pretty big part of my child hood so I still love it.

What's your take on what we saw of SF5?

It looks like it's going to a button based combo system similar to what SF X Tekken, Alpha 1 and Darkstalker had.  Can't say that's bad cause I wanted the button based system back.  BUUUUT I finally just started getting used to the timing based system in 4. Which I'll concede is the more strategic system.  Should be way easier to master though.  The EX bars reminded me of Third Strike.  I think the supers might be selectable.

One of the things Ono said that caught my attention is that the characters are going to be more unique.

Yeah. So they might actually go back to Third Strike's system of set combos plus the ability to juggle. Art style aside I got Third Strike's vibe but with Darkstalkers gameplay

Maybe. the VGC thread had gifs in it. The Capcom Cup twitch that Raven should have a replay of the entire event.
