Everyone is talking about Uncharted and The Order but I'm losing my mind over The Forest!

Its pretty much my dream game that I wanted to make.
Though a bit different.
Looks sweet though.

Well it's already on PC.. honestly it's not very good IMO. It's Don't Starve with better graphics but without the charm
just my opinion.
Still glad it's coming to PS4 cause it's fairly popular and enriches the console's library.

I'm more excited about Killing floor 2

NeverDies

I have this on PC. It's pretty good, but still in early alpha. They still have lots of game elements and tweaks to make before it's released on consoles.

Yeah I bought the early access since I love these type of games.

It's much better than Minecraft and Don't starve at its early stages, but once you've built a fort it kinda falls apart. Sure you could go off and explore the island, but at the moment there's no reason to. Instead it just takes an hour to make a house and then you're done playing.

Is there any system for eating/hunger?

Yes you have hunger and you have stamina. Hunger needs to be replenished by eating, while stamina is replenished by eating, not working, or sleeping.

You also get cold or wet and have to warm yourself up with a fire.

Gotcha.
This is the same type of game I had in mind, for a long time.  It was why I mentioned it being difficult to ensure freedom while also giving a drive to play.  I believe that was what I said.  And you said multiplayer games do that quite well.

dang where have I seen this thread title before.

I've watched streams of this game and it looks fun, I just hope what they showed in the trailer was PS4 footage and not PC
Legend made me remove this. Everybody riot.

I assume it was. The forest is made in Unity so getting it up and running on PS4 wouldn't take too much time.

yup i agree, looks really cool. like a dead vs dont starve vs horde mode type of game. i really wish it was 3rd person and i would have been super hyped for it. however, as it stands, im quite interested. is it a free to play, retail or just a digital download game?

sounds disappointing, but still they can fix it i hope. how big is the world? in dont starve no matter what you build you will always run out of resources or have something attack you and scare you out. and it takes a lot of time, exploration and effort to build a strong base. i used to try build several bases so i can run away from one to the other if needed and memorize worm hole routes.

Right now the whole game map is a single island. However, it's still in early development, so I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being some sprawling procedurally generated map in the final version.

It's really big but right now in early access you can only go to a small portion of the island, which in itself is pretty big.

Don't starve has insanity to worry about, but in this as long as you're eating you're good.
