VGC Tracking WTF?

So ps4 must be under tracked by 2 million. It was a 2 to 1 lead WW in sony's favor and now it's only 7 with current numbers. If the xbox numbers are accurate than ps4 should be at 18 million right now. maybe 17.7 at the lowest.  There hasn't been a single week where the xbox has out sold ps4. So how is it that magically "catching up"?

Its VGChartz, what did you expect?

I guess i should expect sony in last place some how, even when we have official numbers saying other wise.

Hmm, maybe not. Xbox One wouldn't actually have to outsell PS4 to cut the 2:1 lead. Every week the PS4 sells less than 2:1, that lead will decrease ratio wise.

I thought about that too. Maybe we need someone better at math than me, but to close the gap it wold need to out sell it. because every week the ps4 has sold just as many plus some adding more to the gap while xbox makes no ground.

Only to close the gap in actual numbers. Ratios don't work quite the same.

Lets use an example.
Say PS4 sold 20m and Xbox 10m. PS4 leads 2>1
1 year goes past, PS4 is now at 30m and Xbox at 17m. PS4 outsold Xbox One by 3m for that year. But now the gap is only 1.76>1

To keep it at 2>1 the PS4 would need to continue outselling the Xbox One by 2>1 or more, which with the last few weeks being holiday weeks was pretty difficult.

Okay, I'm getting it now. Not sure why it didn't sink in. But I still think it's undertrack by a good bit. like some one said of VCG about it being the fastest selling console of all time which means more than the wii. So still WFT. lol.

Yeah, may well still be under since it's fastest selling ever. Would have been nice to hear an actual number from Sony. I suppose there is still tomorrow for that though, let's hope :)

What Pi said. XB1 is not closing the gap. It's just that the ratio is smaller now with the holidays and XB1 price cut. After the holidays the ratio should go back to 2:1 to 3:1
