I don't think that's it at all. I think he did a good job of convincing people he has good data collection. I believe he has very limited in US and UK and that is it. We know he has absolutely none in Japan.

None in Japan, None in Others and very very limited in Europe (exc. UK).

At least it is the only accurate place in VGC... well at least the TOP40 software :-P

Yeah, I have no fudgy clue why he even makes up numbers after that. (actually, I do. It's to mislead people to convince them he actually has data).

I made a thread yesterday saying how much do you think the console will be adjusted down? Mods locked because I was something I don't understand.

Today the numbers are posted... unbelievable but in line with my prediction.

They are not anymore nice or interesting.

When the Xbox nation, PS nation and Ninty nation agree the numbers are hugely off... something is wrong... I was agreeing with Seece on my wall right now about that.

vgc is getting so bad, i almost think ioi wants it to die and just isnt trying anymore

Vgc is sitting in a tough position. They have methods and data that they use to get to their numbers. They validate this against the tracked regions, like US, Europe and Japan.

But when the shipped numbers come out it doesn't add up. So where do they put the rest of the numbers, and what data do they use to appropriate the outstanding figures.

Without hard data, Vgc is on a downward trend. I always thought the idea was to expand their sample size and build partnerships with retailers. But then again ioi has said before that they dont want to compete with NPD etc. So yeah what do you do? I guess we just need to except what vgc is, a free tracking service.

That being said if its obvious that a certain region is undertracked/overtracked then they need to adjust their formulas and methods etc. to reflect that, especially in the big regions.
