my wife makes it, but I don't think she usually makes the crust from scratch... it tastes better, but cost and time versus pre-made makes it seems cheaper overall just to buy the premade version of all types of pie :0/

when I made my pies recently I made the crust from scratch! It was actually kind of fun, though time consuming... I also laced the top of the pie with strips... I'll post some pics soon

Meat pies are pretty bad usually.

Even the good ones fail to match the beauty of dessert pies. Peacan, cherry, lemon marange, key lime, apple, blueberry, chocolate, banana creme, etc.

Also cheesecake is a cake, not a pie lol.

Have you tried one made in England, particularly Lancashire?

No I've only tried ones in London.

Oh well Lancashire is pretty much the home of meat pies. I don't think people in the south like pies as much as we do. I just love a good pie!

Dr. Pezus

What is the definition of a pie, as opposed to cake?

You don't need to draw a line. They aren't near each other. A pie is made of pastry and is savoury.
