I said 200-300k! also, there are other games around there that have sold around the same mark. Although WD XB1 is down there and thats over 500k, which shows its still unreliable. 300k definitely isn't out of the question
watch, itll pass wd xb1 and have more then 500k sales :P

yup i can dream

You are making me feel confuse guys :P
we are just talking about if you can make any connection between total sales, and its specific ranking on the yearly top 100 on amazon lol   which is obviously a stretch, but its gotta be atleast close lol

Indeed, I'll be very surprised if the bundle has less than 200k pre orders in the US right now.

same here lol   my inital guesstimate at the beginning of july was like 300-350k for the bundles launch.    it very well could get pretty close.

I'd really like to set up a program to watch the charts and record everything. Then by comparing hourly, weekly, monthly, and yearly charts you could get a very accurate system for knowing how much an item is selling.

Amazon is skewed though because I think it gets more of the console market compared to games. It could still be reasonably accurate though and if you have the time to set it up then why not!

Yeah it might be bad at predicting the whole US, but it'd be great at calculating just what Amazon is selling.

True that! If we wanted we could make it really intricate by factoring in how much % of total US sales amazon has of particular types of product, then use that to extrapolate

We could actually set it up to monitor multiple websites as well!

Really get some good numbers.

I wonder if Amazon has data on their marketshare in various segments?

its been on an upclimb for a while,   so might be hard to have recent numbers.   I saw an article yesterday about amazon taking a bite out of bestbuy lol   Ive tried looking but havent had much luck.    Im tempted to make a chart with the games in the top 100 with the vgc numbers to compare.   Although i wish i had up to date on the year NPD numbers for games.   Do you know an easy place to find that?

No. Just random games in NPD threads on gaf or vgc

We should get in to sales data.

Etho already does a great job tracking official data, but we should start storing it in a user friendly archive kinda like vgchartz.
