That's always one of the big suggestions.  

I like that there's a semi-legal option currently.

I got the Stranger Things UHD

Kind of a crazy set, the latter two seasons have almost 1 episode per disc. 

Um how does that work? Is it 1 or is it 2 episodes per disc? Or do you swap midway through an episode?

I meant, like Season 4 is 9 episodes on 7 discs. 

Whereas most of Season 1, 2 and 3, have 8 episodes on 4 discs.

If Pi likes it enough, he'll talk about it online. That's worth more than if he spent money buying it.

if I got a NAS I think I would go lower res just to save space.  i'm pretty okay with 1080p.

4k. Very high bitrate 4k, with several lossless audio streams. 


It had been nice to just put very high quality streams on my NAS. 
But Stranger Things isn't exactly my favorite show, partially wanted to support a Netflix release.  

And HDDs are stupid expensive right now. 

I had been deciding if I should downscale it.  Even a good 1080p stream would still be better than Netflix.

But I fully agree with that. The bitrates for streaming are so often criminal!!! It's worse than SD television sometimes.

I would really love if Arrow Films put out a collection for Dark like this.

This doesn't affect anyone else.

But Crunchyroll is announcing that they're going to put their store behind their subscription service, specifically the $14/month and $18/month tiers. 

Sony buys up most of the anime industry, starts cutting releases, raises the prices of their subscription service, make their store more limited. 

So tired of feeling like a lot of these things are getting worse with fewer options and higher prices. 

I'll probably end up subscribing to Crunchyroll to buy their discs.  

No way I can afford everything I want to get by the time they change that.

The reason TV characters felt real was because we spent real time with them—a standing date, week in and week out. They were in our homes more often than anyone but our immediate family, and they, usually, aged as we did, whether or not the show acknowledged it. Buffy started sophomore year one season and junior year the next; John Carter went from raw med student to seasoned chief resident. We knew on some level that the barflies from Cheers weren't really our drinking buddies, but they served the same function—a group of lively, funny, unpredictable oddballs you always knew where to find. They were, in the words of another classic sitcom, there for you.

Streaming shows, by contrast, turn up when they feel like it—dropping by months or years later, sometimes without even the courtesy of an advance announcement. Rather than a steady, manageable commitment, they take up hours at a clip, like an old college buddy who's in town only for the night. The sustained engagement can be exhilarating, but then it's over, and who knows when they'll be back.

So Inuyasha is an anime from 2000-2004, plus a final season that came out in 2009. 

I know that I've watched the first series a few times actually.  I'm half way through the final season, and I'm not sure that I've ever watched it. The last episode I watched seemed weirdly familiar.  

I'm weirdly excited to actually finish a show that i technically started like 20+ years ago. 


I feel like it's a really great show, with a caveat that it wasn't made to be binge-watched.
