Finished Episode 3 of Season 8.

So I felt like this was a really awesome zombie TV, but it was bad Game of Thrones TV.

It didn't feel like they had a plan. They didn't beat impossible odds by being clever, they won by being lucky and having bad writing.  Arya magically appearing in the big zombie circle and taking out the Night King easily.  I have a lot of complaints. It felt kind of dumb they just had the Dothraki charge in. It felt like earlier seasons would have made them do smarter things. I don't even know what that would look like, but I could imagine them building multiple walls of fire, having the archers shoot flaming arrows first before charging. Stuff like that.

But I think it was fantastic from a zombie point of view. Like the whole scene where the Dothraki charge into the zombie horde is kind of fantastic from that point of view. Watching the flames die out one by one, is kind of amazingly harrowing.

Good way to put it. Not bad tv, not compared to the average show, just not at all the style of other seasons.

Stuff happens because the plot wanted it to happen and you can tell.

I've kind of wanted to do a tier list of the shows I've watched. I probably won't get very far, but I thought it'd be fun to start something.

Rankings are kind of weird, this'll be a mix of my personal preferences, and stuff that I maybe don't love, but still think is very well done.

I'm not very good at these.

Trying to put stuff in where I've seen all of it. But I don't tend to watch everything unless it's good to great.
And some of the stuff that I'm putting in C/D category is still stuff that I think is better than most things frankly...

i watched the original anime years ago.  i was told brotherhood was amazing.  i guess i figured it was a sequel but after 3 episodes it is so far a 100% rehash of what i've already watched.  i wanted original content.  not sure i want to watch a reboot.
Did you ever finish this?

I just watched through FMA Brotherhood for the first time last month.

i like to compartmentalize things.  so for me fmab is a "while commuting to work" thing for which i only do on monday's and i skipped going into the office a bunch lately due to vacation and illness.

anyways, i'm halfway though part 4 of 5 on netflix.   i'll likely finish around august or september.
