Not sure you guys are the best source for a recommendation but there is so much Elon Tesla discussion here I figured I'd ask.  I think you (Legend) cares more about self driving than EV but..

... my beater car needs about $5k in work and my wife wants to get rid of it to get an EV.  our criteria are:
- affordable
- full EV not hybrid
- not Tesla

right now my wife is highly interested in the Hyundai ioniq 5.  we test drove it yesterday and it seems fine.  I told my wife we need to at least look at other options.  the Chevy equinox seems like a viable option to me. kia is also on a lot of recommendations list but it it's noticably more expensive without being any better as far as I can tell.

I tend to like 100% ev companies, like lucid and rivian.

they don't really meet my "affordable" criteria.   I could buy the ioniq 5 twice for the same cost as a lucid or rivian.

Yeah I can't really help you from that point of view. I've just heard that a lot of traditional car companies have half assed their ev offerings.

ask my wife.

i've been swamped with work this year.  everyone in the world is mad at me for declaring our software release to have too many bugs to release.   everyone knows its true but everyone wants me to just declare it good enough anyways.   they don't like it when i said we're in this boat because you lied to management about the state of the software months ago.

in short i'm stressed the F out and not getting to many of my family responsibilities lately.    good news is i'm projecting the delay won't be long.  just a few weeks.   mid january.

i can really see how video games ship in a mess right now.   dear god the number of know-nothings talking a bunch of BS about a report saying things are amazing and i'm stupid and too pessimistic.  i'm the god dang product manager and you're the VP of marketing...
