I think all social media should be destroyed in a blaze of fire. It's the reason we are in this mess to begin with. The moment zuck made facebook, he singlehandedly doomed the entire human race to nothingness

i have always kept my facebook restricted to friends.   but yeah, i have lots of post critical of trump.

i have removed my kamala sticker from my car already.  i don't feel safe driving my kids around with that sticker labeling my politics.

if we can't blame guns for gun violence than we can't blame facebook for the radicalization it has caused.

i know there is a lot of blame to go around but i can think of no one that has abused social media more than trump.   when a right winger drove his car into counter-protests in Charlottesville he called the protests a "riot" and said "I think there is blame on both sides".  when a left winger murders kirk the entirety of all liberals are labeled terrorists and he openly declares the weaponization of government against everyone.

no ones rhetoric is even half as bad as trump himself.   no one and nothing is more to blame for the radicalization of america than trump.  he is our nations cancer.

Trust me, I really don't disagree. I get the analogy, but I obviously know there is both issues. As far as guns for protection in homes I'm fine with, but it's the high-powered rifles that are the issue and it absolutely should be very very hard for the avg citizen to get anything more than a handgun, imo.

But I will say, no social media, no platform for the trump rhetoric to spread like it has.

What is really terrible about a lot of what happened this last week, is that another school shooting was overshadowed by charlie kirk. Agree or not, he really didn't deserve to be assassinated and I will stand by that over and over.

no one should be assassinating anyone.  that should be a red line that everyone across the political spectrum can agree on...

...but that's not really true is it?

where was the outrage when Melissa Hortman was assinated in MN?

It was met with deliberate silence.
"Do you think it would have been fitting to lower the flags to half-staff when Melissa Hortman, the Minnesota house speaker, was gunned down by an assassin as well?" asked Nancy Cordes, the chief White House correspondent for CBS News.
"I'm not familiar. The who?" Trump replied

where were the outrage when 3 men plotted to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer in MI?

They was consideration to pardon them.
"I will take a look at it. It's been brought to my attention," Trump said while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office
"You know, they were drinking, and I think they said stupid things, but I'll take a look at that," Trump added.

Trump is moving military into america's streets:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/15/trump-national-guard-democratic-run-memphis
..and using miltary force against non-military targets:
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/3-killed-2nd-strike-alleged-venezuelan-drug-boat/story?id=125599866

Many on this site panned me as being too negative about conservatives over the years.   well here we are and things are already soo much worse than i ever feared.  mark my words,.. trump will use government to murder is perceived political opponents before his term is over.    ...and it won't be met with shock or disgust, it will be cheered and applauded.

despite what is being reported in the news,.. jimmy kimmel made a joke about MAGA's response to Kirk's assassination.   trump's FTC threated to take away ABC's license and within hours Kimmel was canceled.

"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

on the other side of the ailse a fox news host called for the execution of homeless people.   no one cares.

One of Kilmeade's "Fox and Friends" co-hosts, Lawrence Jones, said during the discussion that mentally ill homeless people who refuse treatment should be "locked up."

Then Kilmeade chimed in, "Or involuntary lethal injection, or something. Just kill 'em."

the rights repose has nothing to do with morality.  this is simply free speech under attack.  this is freedom under attack.
