kind of a meaningless stat.   launch day sales are almost always stock limited even for consoles that go on to be failures like vita.   1st year sales will be the important one so we can see if this sales pace is a spike or sustained.

It at least shows it is not another wii u, but yeah until systems aren't stock constrained it's hard to know.

based on what i've seen i already hate this game.    i hated steam world dig and this game looks like a everything i hated about steamworld dig in 3D.

i have a rule in my household:

no games for switch unless it's exclusive to switch or just dance (due to preferred game input).   


my kids wholeheartedly agree.  this week my kids are at "video game camp".   ..one of those trucks come in with a bunch of TVs and consoles and they play video games all day.   i told my kids to pay attention to games they may want to buy for the switch 2.   my kids came back after day 1 said, "switch games are blurry."  they've been playing xbox instead because apparently it's bad enough they don't want to play the switch.  apparently gang of beasts is the game everyone wants to play.

wow, must be a huge resolution difference if even kids care. Although I do remember as a kid being so amazed by super smash bros on the gamecube since kirby was a sphere, not triangles

i don't think my kids have the language to accurately describe things but when they say "blurry" i think they mean jaggies.   the jaggies on switch are incredibly bad coming from kids are used to playing on a ps5.   i don't mind nintendo's simple art style and in fact kind of prefer it sometimes.   but holy hell are the jaggies nauseating on some nintendo games on switch.

i skipped though it a bit but i watch the direct for DK.   it doesn't look at bad as i was thinking it looked from the announcement.  yes there is digging but it looks like digging is the primary thing to do.  more like a platformer with destruction.    i still am very unlikely to get it at $80.   ...but maybe if nintendo ever puts it on sale i'd consider it.   it looks like a title to pick up from the library some long weekend.

of course they have no idea what DF is.    i had no words for it but as a kid i sure as hell noticed "slowdown" on the NES.   i knew it made games hard to play and i didn't like it.  my kids are no different.  they might not be able to describe issues correctly but games with issues can still be observed.   

i know my kid really noticed the change in load times when we moved to the ps5.   probably helped that the last game we played on ps4 was lego ninjago which had some of the worst load times in the franchise.   i think load times reduced from the ballpark of 1-2 minutes down to 10-20 seconds.   still bad really but a lot less infuriated.   ..especially since ninjago made you go though 2 loads back-to-back: 1 to finish the level for the level selector, 1 to start the next level.
