Kinda funny but we'll see.

Feels like it's been forever since there was a comody movie like this. Everythings been direct to streaming.

Prob cause snow white is one of the biggest bombs in history.

Not sure if I'm happy or sad. Tangled wasn't great but I liked some things about it. So live action could be an improvement, or it could be even worse.

I just posted the state of my movie shelves on another site. Thought I'd post them here too.

Decided it was time to rewatch LOTR. Over halfway with the second one at the moment.

I feel like I'm being more judgemental about the visuals this watch. Seeing more issues than the past few rewatches.

Some things that feel uncanny feel like it makes sense that they feel uncanny.
Seeing a long thin bridge over a large chasm with people on it would probably look uncanny if I saw that in real life.

But I feel like I've seen some more scenes where I'm like "oh I can see how they did this scene".

It's a little funny that the 4k version reveals more issues. I was comparing two scenes to the DVD version, and it's like the better visual quality really makes some things look worse. I'm not sure if I posted it, but there was a scene of the gate, where it feels so obvious that it's people on a set with the background being entirely CGI. :P And it's not as obvious in the DVD.

LotR is like real old now.  it was mind blowing at the time but even in my first watch I spotted issues.

even today when things have gotten better it still feels like "mixed media art".  the texture is never quite right. I will likely always prefer "practical" effects to CGI animation.  BB8 is a great example to me how even today going practical leads to much more lovable results.
