Legend

Metroid is the only upcoming switch game I have any interest in

Legend

I have only played super metroid and other m, but man did I love super metroid

Legend

How does this just keep going on!?!?

4 hours of this, and multiple days? Bring better games

kitler53

got pulled into a work meeting and hit pause on the the stream.   starting up again with DK.

i liked DK more in yesterday's trailer.  it felt "high octane" and the environmental destruction felt like it could lead to cool platforming ideas.

this demo feels very slow.   the gameplay while digging underground looks boring.  the platforming looks basic.

kind of reminds me of steamworld dig which is a game i hated.  soo repetitive.

man.  on those side by side the framerate of zelda on switch is soo bad.

i fast forwarded thought the rest.   you are right about horrible framerate during game screen sharing.    it's hard to even focus on the gameplay i would be playing with what's going on below.

so at least a few of you have regular old switches right?   i think these questions will be fairly universal to you guys..

any recommendation on a strategy for controllers and peripherals?

I'm seeing these cheap plastic wheel peripherals:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Joy-Con-2-Wheel-set-of-2/15940757432?classType=REGULAR

Looks pretty much exactly what i have for my wii.   worth it for mario kart?

what about for other games?  I see a few options here:
Pro Controller:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nintendo-Switch-2-Pro-Controller/15955005005?classType=REGULAR
Extra Joycons:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Joy-Con-2-L-R-Light-Blue-Light-Red/15898519412?classType=REGULAR
Joycon Charging Grip:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Joy-Con-2-Charging-Grip/15898369899?classType=REGULAR

I don't really want to buy everything but at the same time i want to be able to play 4-player mario kart as well as play games like metroid without having severe ergonomics issues.  not sure if what i should do.   especially what i should do first as obviously i could buy a few at launch and my more junk later just to spread the costs out.

recommendations?

QuoteStatement from Nintendo: Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged.

price increase obviously coming.  i was really hoping they'd stick to their original numbers for at least the pre-orders and raise prices a bit later.   i don't know if i can pull the trigger on this even for my son's birthday if the cost is $450 * 1.34 = ~$600.

My only accessory is the pro controller. It's pretty nice.

So much for $450 being because of tariffs. Switch 2 be 2 expensive.
