I have access to Sora from OpenAI, it's pretty bad and every cool demo was cherry picked

"An astronaut swims in lava on the Moon"

Sora automatically turns your prompt into more advanced instructions, and it just completely ignores them.

"An astronaut, clad in a shiny silver spacesuit, appears to swim gracefully through a glowing river of lava on the Moon's surface. The brilliant orange and red hues of the lava contrast vividly against the gray lunar landscape, casting an eerie glow. The Earth is visible in the dark sky above, adding a surreal touch to the scene. The astronaut's movements are fluid and deliberate, exploring this otherworldly environment with curiosity and awe.

The astronaut performs a backstroke through the lava, their reflection shimmering on the molten surface."

"It is the birthday of "VizionEck" and the tech startup is another year older. A group of people all stand behind a cake that says "Happy Birthday VizionEck" and they blow out the candles together."

It's at least better...

And this isn't just me. You can see the feed of what everyone else is making and it's equally bad for most videos. This example did not want a weird transition with the house popping up, and the mouse tail falls off, and the dad sinks into the ground.

This one just mentioned parasailers in the background, and Sora couldn't resist.

Here is a screenshot of the raw feed of new videos to show that I am not cherry picking. The house with storm clouds and the guy with wings are the only ones that openAI would maybe publish. All the others are just full of major flaws or just not that good.

You can get equally mediocre results from open source stuff that runs on your own pc.

On Twitter there are more that are that silly.

Wow, best AI video I've ever seen. Outside of the tomato slices looking like they get thicker as they rotate, I'd swear it was a real video.

This one is funny. The AI is treating the torch like a flashlight so most of the light is directed forward.

Not perfect, but pretty good!

Bad job with the helmet. Doesn't have a different index of refraction from being under water.

Kinda floaty, but more grounded than Sora

Some issues here with the right video

More coins in the box after impact

Edt: yeah what I'd expect from sora

Anything with this song is a 10/10

But I think the AI just knows this movie. Any time I ever have an AI make alien stuff, it always does a bad job.

Stuff like this would have been so cool in a matrix movie. Now everyone is used to it, but imagine every scene having little things like that tomato finger cutting in the background. Way cooler than the glitches they put in.
