LEGO Horizon Adventures Reviews - Metacritic 71 on metacritic

That's lame. I was hoping it'd be great and start a trend.

soo f'ing tired of seeing steam users has the definitive source for something's success.

lego is targeted towards kids ages 3 to 6.   the reason this game is on switch is that is going to be like 90% of the target market.

I bought cause it looks fun.  We shall see I guess.  I'm guessing most of the sales are going to come from PS and Switch

i skimmed a few reviews.   i see that reviews are pretty negative overall but having played literally every lego game with my son i have to say it sounds like every lego game.   the games aren't exactly what i would call fun for an adult but they were perfect for my young kid.   my take is the horizon IP got a bunch of people that typically wouldn't play/review a lego game to play/review a lego game only to find out lego games have never been targeted to them.    shallow story.  simple repetitive gameplay.   yeah,.. exactly what it needs to be when you are targeting a 3-6 year old.   i saw a few reviews say things like "this should have been horizon but in-lego".   it tells me they literally do not understand the point of the lego franchise.

but that's my take.  i'm not going to buy it.   i asked my son and now that he's 10 he is no longer interested in lego games.   i am very happy to not have to play another one.

yeah I'm not the biggest fan of lego games, but I love the horizon world so I'm just interested in it for Horizon. Even though it will be a more comical and goofier take on Horizon.  But it will be something to play here and there for a chill time.

yeah sure.  you do you.   i'm not trying to make you feel bad about buying this game.   i have to say that as much as I didn't want to buy another lego game i was like "well at least this is horizon and not another f'ing marvel game".     so like, i was slightly more interested in this than the rest.

i don't know about horizon specifically but i think it's good for lego to branch out which IP it uses.   marvel/dc/star wars have all been overused by them.  granted many of these games are old now but my kid did not seem to care in the least.

Horizon is not the only lego game. Easy to compare it to others on steam and see that it is doing worse than every other main Lego game.

Steam is the smallest market for sure but it's still worth talking about since the trend could easily extend to switch.

oh no, you didn't at all.  no worries.

Speaking of Horizon Lego.  Their lego tallneck set was so good.  I'm really disappointed they didn't keep doing more of the machines.  But maybe the set must not have sold well enough to warrant continuing.  Or maybe with this new game they will add more sets soon.

I think the games are just getting played out.  I remember trying Lego Star Wars back in university.  It was great!  I bought Lego Batman 1 when it came out.  It was honestly a slog that I barely finished.  Imagine playing through the entire series, I'm sure reviewers are burned out.
