Yep, I know nothing else about the game industry when it comes to inside knowledge except some working on GTA 6.

Horizon

Lego Horizon might actually be good

Not done with their live service push I guess.

Well they poured like $4 billion into it.

But they seem to be going for a more nuanced approach, and not throwing everything at the wall for it.

Bungie will continue.
Horizon Online, Fairgame$ will still happen.
GT7 will still have the live servicy stuff.

Live service is big money if you can pull it off.   I'd wager most gamers are like me in that i play both live services games and single player games.   It shouldn't be an "all eggs in one basket" approach to either side.

I told you guys. If a Sony studio releases a game that starts with "Conc," they will be shut down.

A bit surprised with the timing though. It was obvious to me that they'd be shut down eventually but I thought there was smoke that they were trying to relaunch as free to play to coincide with Secret Level.

Aside from Bungie, Haven with Fairgame$ is the last internal studio dedicated to making a live service title.

oi.   what a fudgy disaster for sony.    huge $ to aquire a studio to not make 1cent of revenue to close the studio and not even have any IP.    such a dumpster fire.

i did a search to see if i could find out how much money sony spent to aquire firewalk.

according to AI:

QuoteThe acquisition cost of Firewalk Studios by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) was not disclosed due to contractual commitments. However, the deal was reported to be for $3.6 billion.

I was like WTF?!?!   ...The AI answer was sourced.   According to the source:

QuoteSony Interactive Entertainment LLC on April 20 announced that it will acquire Firewalk Studios from ProbablyMonsters Inc.

The company did not disclose the terms of the transaction for Firewalk, which is developing an original high-budget multiplayer game for Sony's PlayStation5 console and PCs.

In July, San Mateo, Calif.-based video games console developer Sony Interactive acquired Bungie Inc. for $3.6 billion. The Deal then called Bellevue, Wash.-based ProbablyMonters a potential M&A target.

FFS AI.   this is exactly what I hate you.

i see speculation or "insiders" but nothing even close to official.   we will probably never know for sure.

i doubt they were all that expensive to acquire but as sony has nothing to show for it concord really is an impressively massive flop.   acquisition costs.   post-acquisition dev costs.   marketing costs.   ...and not 1 cent of revenue after refunds.    nothing but 1 worthless IP no one in their right mind would ever want to revisit.
