Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: A deep dive into its enhancements – PlayStation.Blog

More NPCs, motion capture for dialogue scenes, improved textures, react to weather, etc.

It's funny imo how ugly Horizon Zero Dawn faces look nowadays. I remember it looking great at the time but nowadays the skin shader looks pretty artificial like a plastic/rubber.

if i go to that village made out of tents (sun village?) can i still walk on top of the tents without them soo much as bending?

it's an absurd thing to complain about but it was the thing i noticed.

yeah?   I still haven't gotten to H:FW or it's expansion.   I can't imagine replaying games when so many other games exist.

I feel like I have a hard time enjoying most games.

Put like 6 hours into Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding, and just don't have an urge to keep playing.
A fifth play through on Dark Souls though? I fully feel compelled to put 30 hours into it.

with a backlog in the hundreds and ps+ force feeding me more I have no problem dropping a game I don't like.   still doesn't make me want to replay things with Soo many games I haven't played that might be my new favoritest game.

I'm generally picky with games tbh and have plenty of time to play games I want. So replaying games isn't a problem.

I remember trying to play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 way before Covid.  It was a slog.  I decided, years later,  to do no sidequests or explore and it became a lot more playable.  The incessant need to put busy work into games has actually turned me off from any modern game.

I'm like that 90% of the time but every once and a while a game sucks me in and I just love spending time in the world. Horizon 1 and 2 both managed that for me.

i have a love/hate relationship with side quests.

in theory i love them.   ....but i tend to complain about them a lot:
- by doing side quests early i level up too much and it makes the core story missions too easy
- by waiting to the end to do side quests i'm too leveled up and they are too easy and boring

- the side quests aren't really side quests because i need the gear to progress in the main story missions
- the side quests don't give me anything meaningful and thus are pointless

- the side quest disappeared after i past a story check-point
- the side quest didn't make sense because i past a story check-point and now things are awkward.

- the side quest was boring.  just a stupid generic collect/fetch/escort quest
- okay, i don't really have a counter argument here.  i've never complained that a side quest was too entertaining.  xD

The best game to do side quests IMO was the Witcher 3. They were all so well written, even the little stupid ones were entertaining. And I guess a big reason for that is in a way they all taught you something about the lore, world or characters of the the Witcher.
