He endorsed Kamala which of course makes sense, guess Buttigieg will have to wait another 4 years  :'(

It's funny how many republicans are mad at this news. Suddenly Biden isn't too old and was actually the will of the people.  ::)

Yeah I'm really happy he stepped down too. He's looking a lot worse than in 2020 when I voted for him in the primary.

I would have voted for biden again if he stayed on the ballot but like last time it would be a vote against trump not a vote for biden.

Dems need a canidate that is more than just anti-trump.  We need to stand for something.   Hopefully kamala (or whomever) can make that a thing quickly.  Its sooo little time to get a campain going unfortunately.

glad to see dems getting behind our candidate now.

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/07/22/live-updates-harris-democrats-biden-drops-out-trump-campaign.html

i think this really underscores how much even dems weren't excited about biden.   very hard to win an election when even your parties most committed people aren't feeling excited for the work at hand.   i know the polls previously had kamala losing to trump but i'm feeling really good about a sea change in public opinion.   we're going to win this now.

Spoiler for Hidden:
i hope...

personally i haven't donated yet.   i wanted to wait for kamala to be the official candidate but i do plan to donate early.   the huge amount of grassroots level donations will be the biggest indicator of support from dems since we won't get a chance to vote.    i want to make sure i contribute to positive headlines coming out of this debacle.

see that's the shame that republicans say that make themselves looks like the most idiotic people.  Like shut the fudge up.

but for real. I've always been meh on Kamala, seeing her speeches never gave me confidence in her.  But I kinda hope she pulls it out. We are in desparate need of a president who is at least on the "younger" side.

Apparently X is limiting follows?
Like pretty much every other example of stuff like that with social media, I assume that is just preimplemented systems catching legit usage in the crossfire. I don't think a new twitter account has ever gained new followers so rapidly.

edt: also I just tested and I could follow just fine.

I didn't really like her during the primary but outside of her standing next to Biden, I essentially haven't seen her in 4 years. Hopefully her speeches have improved and she can do better in debates against Trump.

yeah i don't think she's really been seen much in the last couple years for sure.  Her early speeches were very cringe and sloppy.  Here's hoping.

mostly i've been happy with the biden presidency.   ...but this is kind of the point on which i didn't like him.

in 2020 while he didn't explicitly say it outloud he heavily suggested that he was only running to defeat trump and only intended to be a 1 term president.   that once in power he'd pass the torch onto the next generation.   i expected he'd put quite a bit of effort into highlighting and promoting the next generation of dem leaders.   ...instead his ego took over and he declared he was running for president again.

say what you will about nacy pelosi.   she stepped aside from her speakership and i highly respect that.   the peaceful transition of power to the next generation is the most critical aspect of a functional democracy.

not that biden didn't eventually get there.   i respect that at least he did the right thing eventually.    ...but he did rob us of a primary election to elect our candidate of choice.   i've always like kamala.  i personally would likely have voted for her in a primary.  i'm fully behind her for 2024.   ...but if there had been a primary i doubt she would have won.
